A nice one just went on GunBroker. An unfired, Jed Smith numbered in .54 caliber. I don't think it lasted a day before it went.

I don't remember. I think the bid started at $695 and the Buy it Now was maybe $895? At any rate, it was sold when I checked this morning.

I got the rifle out to the range yesterday and as expected it shoots very well.
Load;
.520 ball
pillow ticking patch
80 gr 3F

The first two shots cold and clean barrel went a little low, the next three were just a ragged hole in the bull.
Shot at 50yds from the bench.

after reading Phil Meeks articles on Hawken rifles I saw this one and just had to have it. It's not a GRRW but it's pretty nice none the less.

Saying it is nice is an understatement my friend! That rifle is beautiful! I have its twin!
