Hey! We've already had our first 100 degree day here in Phoenix!

It happened on April 10th.

Now, hopefully it will postpone the next one for at least a couple of months.

It's a sign from god about the new tax bill... :rotf:

More likely a result of scientists affiliated with Harvard University’s Solar Engineering Research Program that began injecting the stratosphere with aerosols. Just small amounts, and just water at first. They planed to follow up with calcium carbonate particles within a few years””again, just small amounts. The goal is to determine whether geoengineering can mimic volcanic eruptions’ ability to safely cool the Earth.

Based on the weather, I'd say their tests were successful.....

Anybody remember the name of the General that said we would own the weather by 2020?.... :hmm:

While growing up in Iowa, it was not highly unusual when we had snow on the ground on Easter Sunday.

However, a week after Easter here in Virginia, I walked outside and was stunned to see some snow on the ground.

I guess it is officially Spring here in Richmond as of yesterday, when I had to cut the grass in my front yard for the first time.

I do have sympathy for those who are still getting the last gasps of Winter.

What could possibly go wrong?

I am reminded of Murphy's Law.

We have a freeze warning for tonight. Hope it's the last one for a long time. This is getting silly. Spoke to a friend this morning who has fruit trees. She says they are doing OK despite the cold spring so far but an extended freeze could be a problem. Time for a little warmth. (She grows some of the best peaches for the local farmers market. I look forward to them every year.)

PS: This won't keep me from griping when we get temps in the upper 90s with 120 percent humidity.

we have the Lone Star Tick moving into the ky, Indiana area. if you get bitten by that critter, you can never eat any red meat for the rest of your life or you can die. it has a white spot on the mid back that resembles the state of texas.
I got a tick bite last summer and had all the symptoms of rocky mt. spotted fever and the insurance co paid $5,420.00 for that fiasco.
it will sure take all the fun out of any sport that involves the woods or tall grass for that matter.
