I hope this is the right forum for this. I did a search and couldn't find an answer. My problem is how to sell since firearm related things are not allowed by paypal. Their policy is pretty spefic and there is no "antique " wiggle room to get by with using them.
What have you used or what do you suggest that would be good and acceptable for both the seller and the purchaser? Thank you, N5JIF

I'm not sure there is anything that protects the buyer like PP supposedly does.
I sold a knife to someone in Canada and he wired me the funds using Western Union. That was pretty painless on my end, but I do not know about his end. He's the one who suggested it, so once I found a nearby WU place I said sure.

I've accepted cash for smaller items, MO's, cashiers checks and personal checks.
But that is on a forum that has buyer and seller feedback. I don't know why we don't have that enabled here for the amount of buying and selling that goes on.

I'm not sure the form of payment matters much. It's more a case of trust, like in the "old days".
That's why it's nice to have a buying/selling history built up.

I do like the way you have to time stamp the pictures with your username.

We can take a debit or credit card but really don't like to. PO money order is the most painless way for both the buyer and the seller. From us you get your item quicker than with a personal check as we don't have to wait for the MO to clear. I prefer to transact business at events in person.

Depends on what your selling ,stuff like molds/dies I use paypal (F+F) buying /selling . Quik {NOW) and with the exchange you know history of buyer/seller ratings on ebay /USPS money order is a pain for me ,my bank moved anf it's 40mi round trip and the stupid post office pees me off never enough cash to pay me but wants cash to buy one !!!

I’m fortunate that I have a good post office. It’s a shame since most of them used to be good. I certainly understand the distance you talk about though. 40 miles is quite a drive for the post office

My personal opinion is that, as a buyer, there is nothing protecting you and there is always some chance you’ll lose.
I try and only buy from people who’ve been around awhile and try and message them enough to get some sense of who they are. After that, if I’m comfortable with them I generally send cash overnight. I haven’t been wrong yet but I’ve walked away from a few deals.

You actually should treat the MO like you do a personal check. A lot of phony cashiers checks and MO's traveling the pike out there. If the MO is a fake, it goes back to the PO or wherever you cashed the MO, then it goes back to you, which means you get no money and no product.

The buyer is usually the one at risk. I did a buy with a low post count person that was selling and he insisted that he send the item to me first because he was a newbie. That my friends was a secure transaction. I always use USPS MO.
