give it a rest, your talking to people who have been shooting 3 times longer than you have been alive. many of us at a high level. but you know it all... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Maybe leave the young guy alone? Pretty good thread to get locked. Why the peeing match? Good grief!! You guys used to give me cra p for using a Walmart bag and shooting off my Corolla door. I still do it. Hasn't affected anyone here. Kinda like a young man in tx doing his own thing.

Young man in TX? just stop replying to these guys you don't have to prove anything, as you can see when you did that with the cylinder swap it just made em mad lol

Well since you have so much experience please explain why the trigger of a single action revolver needs to be covered when the hammer is locked in-between cylinders.

Half of the fun is people saying you can't and doing it anyway. Like putting 65gn of pyrodex p behind a round ball in an 1858 Remington. It can be done and I will do it again I don't care that it gets diminishing returns because it's still getting returns and it's fun lol.

I got an ROA for that. Leaning towards accuracy these days in a new .36 navy. I may have to have a cannon soon though and that's a fight I don't like forward too. No way to sneak it in, no way to hide it.
I prefer accuracy too but for a house gun it doesn't matter much. Idk about y'all but I can't afford a house that is big enough to take a 15 yard ****. I really only do hot loads for fun. And in my armi san marco 1860 army the most accurate load is 25gn of pyrodex p and a round ball. Second most accurate it 40gn and a round ball and is shoots to point of aim. Cant afford a ROA lol. As for the cannon have you thought about sneaking it inside of a new couch. Win win wife gets a new couch and you sneak in a cannon.

For your safety and the safety of others get a good leather holster. For concealed carry I chose a shoulder rig. Know your state laws concerning concealed carry. Some states require a permit, others don't. A good load for a .44 calibre would be no more than 25 grains of fffg black powder. I use tallow and plenty of it. I'd get a graduated powder measurer to determine the best load for your revolver. Even brands and models from the same manufacturer will have different perfect loads for each revolver. Once you find that perfect load, stick with it. On the cylinder will be six nipples. Make sure your caps fit good and tight. If not. get some Treso Ampco nipples, 6x.75mm Thread, .520 cone length. #11 caps will fit perfectly. Your factory nipples may not fit #11 nipples. Italian specs. Also, to be really safe, load five chambers and let the hammer rest on the empty chamber. For your projectile, I would not use any jacketed or fmj. Use only pure lead. Your barrel was not meant for any projectile, but pure lead. Lastly, again, determine the laws for your age bracket for your state before attempting open or concealed carry. Knowing the law will save you a lot of needless legal expense. Some states do not care about your 2nd Amendment rights. I had a friend that told the judge about his 2nd Amendment rights and the judge through the book at him. He paid needless attorney fees. Have fun and be safe.

Well, this is all well and good, but i still am having a hard time understanding why an 18 yr old feels like they need to be armed! Something is not complete in this picture. How many of you were armed 24/7 when you were 18? I know I wasn't? Just one man's opinion. :dunno:

Depending on where life has placed you it's not shocking (and he is in TX lol). It's 2024.......how many of us had to learn new pronouns? Glad i raised my kids already.
I guess, but I have worked in inner cities,(Phila, Chicago,NYC, LA )my entire life., coming and going in areas that were not for the average "tourist" etc and never placed myself in a position of needing to be armed. I had a CCW in Phila(still do) but getting one in the other liberal States, LOL, no way.

My aunt was an elementary teacher at an inner city school in Indy, She was a lib and would not have a gun by she toted a Louisville slugger everywhere.

I know what ya mean but it's not our grandpas world anymore. $1000.00 limit on shoplifting before the charge ya? OMG I would rot in jail if I was a store owner in these areas. Fools are gonna start whining they are hungry and there is no food to buy soon. Remember Rodney King? Idiots burned all there own stores and the nearly beat to death the truck drivers bringing in supplies then they whine they are hungry? It's worse today. More folks carrying the better in some areas

I lived in LA when Rodney was doing his thing. Alos when OJ was being tried for murder. I actually only lived (1 ) mile from OJ, in Brentwood $$$. Also remember Ferguson , MO that they burned down. You know, just a friendly protest according to the liberal media!!

Really I want to make sure that pistol is enough for a side arm when hunting with my Hawkins. I would never primarily hunt with a snub nos pistol. I could buy a long barrel but that defeats the compact size carry ability and balance. What kind of performance do you think I can get from the 1860 army?
Hawken with an E and no S.

That was in the 90's . . . it's 2024, so you've actually answered your own question ! 😆

Actually I don't feel that things have really changed that much, it is just pushed on us more by the liberal media. Back in the 90's you did not go into Harlem or Spanish Harlem without a very strong reason. You did not go into East LA without having a death wish, or South Chicago, and there was no Brotherly love in Phila!. I worked in a gas station for 6 yrs going to school (PA) The station was in a decent neighborhood etc. It was open around the clock. One evening one of our guys was shot n killed since we worked the "graveyard shift" and all carried 1-2 k in cash in those days, few credit cards being used. After the incident the boss took us to the State Police and we took the tests and received CCW permits. We had a legitimate reason. This was 1969! So, things could go bad quickly even then. Still, I rarely carried unless I was working. I think the only thing that has changed significantly is the liberal failure to support Police and prosecute criminals. That is why I use my CCW more today than i ever did then. Also, I can not move, fight, shoot etc nearly as well as I could in those days. So, I have to be packin to even the odds. It is not my favorite thing to do, in fact it is a pita most times. IMHO

Thus the increased need to protect yourself even more so these days, the criminals ARE armed.
Trust me, there was no shortage of armed criminals than either.
