Sorry I mention them! Well, I wouldn't know if I hadn't asked! Did like the looks of the Baker Rifle though. :shake:

My Pedersoli came as a kit, and had a perfectly fitted breech plug.

RollingB, you can get a N.W. Tradegun kit from Track Of The Wolf for $531. Probably be less than a Pedersoli kit, and most likely better quality too.

Rebel,.... I agree, jest wunder'n wher Pedersoli "kits" are be'n sold. All I ever see from Pedersoli is finished production guns.

I have seen them in some catalogs. I get one that is the Shooting Catalog, it is listed there. The website would list anything they sell regardless of the latest catalog of course.

RollingB Dixie list some Pedersoli kits. I believe the Indian Trade musket they list is a Pedersoli based Bess. I think that is Rat's gun.

I see thet Cabela's is offer'n .62 cal. roundballs fer ther .62 cal. Trade Gun,.... thet orta be a "snug fit"!!

Actually, Cabela's fine print lists the balls as .62 cal/.600". Not the clearest product description.

Thanks Keith,.... Thet clears it up some fer me, I'm always look'n for different Trade Gun kits, I was hope'n maybe sumpthin "new" was be'n offered in .62 cal.

Oh, well Cabela's lists a finished NW trade gun. Perhaps Dixie or someone is selling a kit version. Dixie sells a lot of stuff it could take awhile to find it if they do sell it. I can't remeber who but someone on the internet is supposed to sell everything Pedersoli imports.

Yes the Dixie "Trade gun kit" is the Pedersoli Brown Bess carbine.

Be aware that the TOW "kits" are at a whole other skill level. I had no problem building a nice gun from the Dixie/Pedersoi kit, but had to give up on the Jeager kit I got from TOW and send it to a "real" rifle maker to finish for me, before I screwed it up beyond repair!!!

I'm keeping my TOTW .62 Jaeger that I built (I use that term losely) instead of trading it off. Let me know how you like shooting yours when you can and what loads you try. I'm shooting 85gr of Goex ffg with a .610 ball and Wal-Mart ticking. Not bad so far but I must work on my sights.

I certainly salute you for even being able to finish it.

:master:

Yes I will be trying both .610's and .600's. I hope to run about 100 grains in it, but will shoot less if that feels excessive...or as much as 110 if the rifle, accuracy, and recoil seems "ok".

I hope to have it by December...original ETA was by this hunting season, but my rifle-maker got a little behind. As he is pulling my chest-nutz out of the fire, I can't and won't complain.

Definately look forward to shooting it and will post when I do for sure!!
