Welp ....gotta turn this into an octagonal to round barrel ..so ..... Just stick it in the ole CNC machine , LOL.

And now she is an authentic NW trade gun barrel ....made her octagon to round . Start beddin her in the stock soon ... That is the fastest I'm ever ground flats on a barrel before , surprised the he// outta me !

Find center , measure breech and mark each side of breech . widen channel to match barrel .... Look straight down and scribe lines , these are in accurate ...stay inside lines and breech watch center , stay center and take wood off each side until breech goes down in there .....

So , the wood at breech is wide enough , barrel has dropped down between there .... Mark where the transition. Is on the stock ( where Oct.and round meet ) . use gouge on round section and chisels on Oct . section on sides .... .245 height at breech...

Your lines st sides will be accurate now at Oct. Section ... Round section is off and kicking round section off center ...ive taken out some obvious high spots on sides of round section to try and fix this but that is risky ....need to blacked barrel and find high spots and such .... Get barrel running straight and start bedding it straight down too ...

.186 at breech ...she is gettin straighter ....be sure smack the barrel down and back , at the Muzzle ....

Keep on keepin on .... .118 at breech ! That was fast ! Wow ! The last .125 is the LONGEST though !! LOL .... Still bit surprised got to the depth so quick . Pick of my barrel tool .... Keeps hands little cleaner ....one hand anyway ....

When you start getting black marks I. The bottom of barrel channel , esp. in round section its good sign its coming along ... .101 at breech

Yeah , I was just messin with it as the other had to sit ....went d@mn quick .... dont get me wrong , the worst , longest is yet to come but its at .095 st the breech ....pretty cool ! Might have me a trade gun one day !! LOL

Worked on it JUST a bit after putting the thumb plate on the Carolina Gun ... Its .032 high at the breech ....gettin closer !
