Hey Big D
They messed up my bore size too they told me I was going to be getting a .754, to go with my .735 mold that I had told Wendy that I had, When I went to load my musket with a patch, it was to tight, it would not start, I went and got my calipers and measured the bore, it was supposed to be .754, it was .745! NOT what I ordered either, and I have not heard from them either.

don't they know we talk?... or I have to assume they do not care.
I noticed last night that the frizzen does not sit on the pan as it should also
No word on cal. now word on the Crappy Ram Rod
I do not expect to hear anything, they got my money .thats where customer service stops

mike why must you insult everyone over low cost firearms.unfortunately not everyone can afford the price you charge

"What do you expect for $500?"
The parts to build a nice gun minus the barrel?

I believe Mike's question was perfectly reasonable, I was thinking the same. The last rifle I built was two years ago and the parts were well over $600 and I was not being extravagant. I totally understand that people can't afford $2,000 custom guns, I'm one of those people but when you spend 1/4 of that you have to expect to put some work into it just to make it functional. I have an Indian percussion single 12 gauge that is a very good shooting gun, but only after I put a lot of work into it.

trucker, that was uncalled for. And remember that according to the law in India, these are not, as you say "low cost firearms", they are imitation firearms not needing to be safely functional. As a matter of fact, it takes a special license to convert an imitation firearm into a functional firearm. Aren't we glad we live here where we can.... well...... never mind.

B.D., no offense intended to you.

Mike I want one of your guns
Really I do
I make around 20 dollars an hour
In 2 weeks after taxes I bring home
Around 1000 I dont live in a rat hole but it aint a castle either.
I will take me around 2 years to save up the money to by one of yours
meanwhile I will have to make do with what I have
This is The Cookson Report
Not the India gun, put down site
If you dont want to help make it into a better gun ,Then what are you doing posting here
We all know what you think of India guns
You have said the same thing hundreds of times
So as we say in the Army
Lead ,Load or get out of the way!
I still want one of your guns.Maybe someday...

I suspect that as long as folks will post and remark about all that is needed to make a new gun work ok then there are apt to be some truthfull if not kind comments made, Mikes comment was blunt but to the point and absolutely true.I would not expect and actualy be dissapointed on a serious ML site to see a great great wave of acceptance for guns that were not made to functioning standards in their country of origin, more power to those who find them suitable but do not expect universal warm and fuzzy feelings about them

Point Taken
Now I must work on the Ram rod
My long gun waiting
It was $625.00
And I like it.

Thanks for the detailed info on your two Indian smoothbores, it is good to get complete reports good and bad. I was smoothbore shopping a couple years ago and considered the Cookson, couldn't find much concrete information on it so I passed. I ended up getting a Leonard Day Dutch trade gun, only a couple hundred and change more than the Indian gun. I couldn't be happier with my choice, but have always been curious about the Cookson. Hope you get it where you want it.
