Shine,

Two weeks to Vous. I will be.there next weekend. Tent up, Thursday. See you and Half-Brother there. Be some exceptionally pretty wimmen, at my fly, this year... :rotf:

I respectably disagree with almost everything you said. Everybody that shoots a flintlock is HC/PC. The only matter is, to what degree. Some more, some less, some way less but nevertheless we still like our flintlocks. I also think it is the more HC/PC folks that get bent out of shape when others aren't as committed. I also think the big exception on this thread was with the poor quality of the non-American made gun. :idunno:

By the way I would hunt with Bill anytime but I don't care if I ever shoot another deer. I bet we would be pretty much guaranteed success, however.

Still working on it, made up some R/B
And hope to go to the range as soon as it stops raining

Did you consider shooting some shot or buck shot out of it? At least that would allow you to get some lead downrange.

When I first developed an interest in reenacting I asked about a bazillion questions about Indian and American flintlocks. At the time the cost of a custom gun seemed excessive to me, but now that I realize that the cost of parts alone to build one, it's easy to see how the cost of a completed gun by and American builder can be so high.

I also admit that I've made a mistake. I bought a used Pedersoli Bess... which I'm now planning to sell off so I can restart my efforts at getting into reenacting with a fresh canvas. I want to start with shoes, then either a Chambers PA fowler or a Northstar West Early English.

At any rate, I'm sorry to hear of the customer service issues you've run into. Hope you get it sorted out.

Come on now, Mike you know they go for $625+ shipping. I have been playing the Lottery and when I win... I will order 2 or 3 of yours and I have always wanted a 12 Napoleon Battery
with 6 horse teams to pull um
But until then ....I guess I will have to make do with the ***** guns.Went out and shot it yesterday woooeeeee.. I came home with all my fingers!I love a gamble ..Pulling the Trigger on a 51 inch .685 cal gun is fun reminds me of my original 1816 That old girl had a muzzle that was so thin if you shot it more than 3 times at night the end would glow alittle.Shot 100,s of live rounds out of it and I think I will do the same with the Cookson .Might even keep it if,and when I own one of yours or Roys.
