no wonder you people have a poor quality herd . hunters that come from southern states tell me you shoot anything with horns .
If you had ever had the freedom to go hunting , shoot any deer that pleased you without having to tell the Gov, a thing about it, you might feel different. Managing a herd for horns sounds great, but it changes everything. Rules beget rules beget more rules.

I have hunted in sevral States and never had any of their rules be a problem. Why do you find it so difficult?

two bucks , and as many antlerless deer you can kill . from the kingdom of pike , and the valley of the sangamon . we have deer here you only see in your dreams .

you have no idea what you are talking about! and no wonder "you people" have a 2 week deer season,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
i know a group of guys from sc , nc, virginia , and georgia , that hunt here . they bought a small house together in a small sangamon river town near me . their the ones that tell me how poor your deer herds are . illinois is run by big city chicago crooks , and might not be good for much , but the deer hunting here is the best in the nation . i've been watching a bean field on public land , for the last month and a half . there's a buck out there you'll only see in your wildest dreams .

I have seen some big corn fed deer off the farms in both Penna and NY!

poor deer herds? like i said, you have no idea what you are talking about. in some areas our deer here get up to two hundred pounds, granted that is not the norm, but our deer don't have all the farmland and winters to fatten like northern deer do. and we have a lot of deer! that is why our season is the longest in the nation! and about shooting anything with horns, i have saw photos posted by members, in other states where they shoot button baby bucks and brag about it! there are stupid people all over, not just the south or north, but everywhere. and on top of that, we could not care less how you folks do it up north!

Yes, there are people everywhere who do not use the brains God gave them.

i think a lot of people that talk the talk have never walked the walk, they only go by what they have heard and what the government dishes out and feeds them. no real world experience at all or very little.

Man this post seems to be getting out of hand. I never knew hunting regulations could be so controversial. I realize every state has some silly (dumb/stupid) rules when it comes to hunting and fishing regs but I believe that if all aspects of the sport were completely unregulated we would have chaos and the wildlife population would really suffer. I too tend to rebel a little when the "government" tells me I have to spray certain weeds on my property or that I can't plant trees a certain distance from the road etc. but you have to take into consideration just how stupid some people are and what they might do on their "private property". Without any rules or regulations regarding our private property, I believe things would be a real mess. Common sense is no longer common and the rules and regulations must reflect that. Just my view from my little corner of paradise.

Whether you agree with them or not, the law where you hunt is what it is. Follow it or take your chances like an outlaw.
Like most laws they are there because of the "weakest link", that person(s) who refuses to act sensibly, responsibly and realize there are others that his actions could have an impact on.

Sometimes it can seem that the govt is too concerned with the mundane simple stuff and not working on the real problems!

well, the problem i have is gov. telling/ordering me, a supposed free man, what i can and cannot do on property i have paid for! what i can and cannot build or how to. or what weeds i can spray! in this land of the fee and the home of the slave, we have lost so many of our God given rights we have become blind! and numb to the way we are controlled! i was open carrying a couple of days ago and in a local hardware store. a man that works in the store came up and asked a question about open carry. we got to talking and he was a retired law professor and cop, i asked him, what gives us the right to own and possess firearms? instantly and proudly he said the 2nd amendment! and instantly and proudly i fired back, WRONG! people think the gov. hands out our rights, gov. has never handed out our rights! they only take our rights! i told him with correction, the constitution states what our inalienable God given rights are we already possess! in fact it keeps the government in check not us! but through the years they have been feeding us that dung till we think they are actually doing us a favour by giving us a few crumbs! the gov. all gov employees are public servants and work for us! they do not rule over us! or at least they shouldn't! when i told him this he looked at me like a calf looking at a new gate! wake up! and smell the freedom that you gave away! sad,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
