I'll be hunting cow elk this September in Colorado. Got a bull last year on my first ever hunt. Seemed to me that the bulls were easy to shoot because they had other things on their mind. The cows were much harder to sneek up on or call in.

And cows are better eating, and permits are cheaper, and hunting licenses are less restricted (at least in Colorado),and when you get a chance to run around in the mountains with a muzzleloader, getting a trophy elk becomes almost secondary to the experience itself (at least for me).

In winter 2005 gonna try to make meat by hunting bison here in Kansas, sure hope its not like shooting a cow. Oh well they sure are tasty critters. :D

I'll be doing some bear hunting on the side also.

Dam! That's the most sporting thing I've read here yet!

I think most people set on their rumps, or at least crouch down, but on his side?

Just kidding! Don't take it personal. I have been told not to pester anyone but Mooskeetman, Stumpkiller and Maxiball but I couldn't resist.
