Took my old .40 cal. out today and stacked 10 for 10 into a 2 1/2" spot at 30 yards. This ole girl was my first build over 20 years ago and still my baby. She sports a 42" Green Mountain barrel, L&R lock, Davis single trigger, steel hardware, less than premium curly maple stock and all steel hardware....a true Poor Boy, as I was pretty poor at that time.
Since then Ive acquired customs, and productions that look much crisper and cleaner on fit and finish but sometimes that first build holds a special spirit that no other has....even if its kinda ugly.
The wood to steel aint real great, she's ugly as sin, but she's still my favorite cause she's mine, all mine, including the boo, boo's, ugh oh's and Damn Its!
Your first build may not be perfection but it will no doubt always hold a special place on the rack, no matter how many fire belcher,s you acquire as it will always be your first.
