This weekend, I installed the ram rod guides, entry pipe, started shaping the fore stock, and started on the muzzle cap. Many thanks to those who have offered advice and guidance so far. Here's where we are at!
The guides and entry pipe were much more difficult, and took much more time than I thought they would
Without a doubt, my favorite stock shaping tool...the Lie Nielson #19 low angle block plane. It's the cat's meow.....
The beginning of the muzzle cap mortise. This thing takes a LOT of time!!
I get giddy like a little school girl, and every now and then I put the whole gun together just to stare at it  In my estimation (which is normally wrong), I'm about 90% complete with the rough work on the stock. The side panels need a lot of work, the tang needs a bit more shaping, and the cheek piece need some love. I am also going to make a new side plate since this one points up hill, which is why I have not inlaid it yet.
Tonight we play with the muzzle cap!
Thanks!!
