Fred,

when I first looked at your pic's there I thought to myself that is a pretty fine outcome for your first rifle.

The inletting looks nice and tight, the lines look very good and I would be proud of the finish.

But you know, sometimes when you first get a look at something you think WOW then after a bit you notice a little thing here or there that you initially missed.

So after giving it some time to "sink in" I have to agree with that apt name for your rifle "ugly".

Fortunately for you I have just decided to start a small business.

I'm opening an "ugly rifle" recycling center so I'll send you my address and you can send me that "ugly rifle" and I'll take care of it for you, releasing you from the burden :rotf:

She probably should have been named "Beauty" as she is a beauty for a first rifle. The only thing I see ugly is the step ladder and not to fond of your shoe choice!!!! :rotf:

Criticism of Ugly is most welcome, but....let's leave My Sunday best shoes out of it. Paid $12.95 for them many years ago...they just don't make 'em like that anymore.

Also...the step ladder is an antique and has seen many years of hard use...especially when I was heavier.

Thanks to all for your remarks.....Fred

now that he mentions it, I can't for the life of me remember what sort of shoes the other folks in church were wearing ... if they'd gone barefoot, I might have noticed ...

:eek:ff

I got thinking about that photo with your shoes in it before you mentioned anything Fred. Backing up a step ladder with a camera in your hands would be a dangerous proposition for a fellow like me! Glad you pulled it off without catastrophe!
