This is a GREAT pic! Did you do any editing or use special filters on the camera to capture this? Love the spark at the pan and that long flame at the end. What time of day was this taken? I'm guessing early morning or evening?

No editing. I filmed my friend (a WW II 82nd Airborne vet by the way) with a camcorder. Later I ripped a still from the video. It was about an hour and a half before dark in October a few years ago. It was actually lighter than this but I didn't take the time to adjust the lens to allow for the shadows. The fellow in the picture is a pioneer in modern day BP shooting and gunmaking. He's in his late 80's now but still holds an oldtime shoot at his place in the hills once a year. He's the one who turned me on to BP shooting over 40 years ago and is probably one of the very few real eastern mountain men still around.
