58 cal flintlock built by a local fella who was very fussy about his work. Need to get some updated pictures. Alas he has not been building muzzleloaders for many years.

This is my full stock Hawken. All hardware, including lock & triggers, hand made by Edson Meyers. Rifle was built by Ken Netting.

As I was looking thru the post on here I saw a full stock Hawken rifle that really caught my eye. I have tried to find the pic again but
I am having no luck. So if you have a pic of your full stock rifle a would love to see them.
This is my blank gunstock build Hawken. Goetz tapered 75 cal barrel with RB rifling. It is my back up squirrel rifle 😂 The RR is extra long and ugly, but I like to have something to grab when I swab.

What does a .75 caliber ball weigh and what velocity are they going in your hunting load?
Around 565 grains is what Google said. (.735 is what I shoot) I don't hunt so can't tell you what a hunting load would be. My barrel is 1.25 at the breech with a Goetz barrel. I am guessing one could get pretty stout if shooting large game.

Looks like the dovetail for the front sight had to be made more shallow than usual because of the huge bore diameter, No?

I've cut a lot of dove tails over the last 40 years for front sights on my mill and typically they are .090 deep to fit up snug under the under ledge as well as bottom and corners, on most front sights. I'm always impressed with good dovetail fit accomplished by hand with file and hack saw as I cheat and always use the mill and a dovetail cutter. This is much faster and easier for me and keeps everything true and sharp.

Larry,
Here's another .72 caliber that I built on a Pete Allen action. The barrel is by Oregon.
