She’s starting to look real!!!
Startin to look and feel like a Fusil now . I'm gonna work at refining the buttstock more tomorrow , just had to run into town so picked up some 40 grit paper , so it'll clean up , shape up a bit more ... I won't take it to final.right away . I like to work on the rear section , rear of mortices , then leave itvalone and go to something else , then come back to it and take it down .... Its weird ....if I let it be , that section , then come back to it later ....it looks thick again and the way to refine it and take it down more looks obvious ... do that a few times and it turns out so much better . Dont know why .... I got ta find some appropriate thin iron and start making the ramrod pipes too .... After that I can start taking the " mortices forward " down to roughed in shape ....gettin there . Sorry didnt get to shoot her today . Had to fix my truck door today too .

You know how I get such fast ignition dont ya ? I learned from Mr. Know it all D%# Sh#+ here on the Forum . Its all in how you prime your flintlock ! I mixed 2F and 4F , one Elephant and one Goex , I used a brass spring loaded primer mechanism to lay out exactly 2.3 1/2 grams of powder in the pan .... I separated the line of priming powder in the pan , making two exactly same sized lines with a parting between the two from touch hole to end of pan , then I used a tooth pick , the flat one , dont use the round ones , and made both lines into a zig zag been t without touching each other , dont let them touch ! Then ...using a flat , but end cut off tooth pic , I pushed the priming powder away from the touch hole exactly 1.25 mm and made a tiny little mound . That bump MUST be exactly .85 mm high , width doesnt matter but it can not touch the zag lines ! No connection at all ! Then you must sprinkle 1/10 a gram of pulverized golden rod root on top of the priming powder , dont use any more or less ! and you can't use fresh ...the golden rod root must be season from at least last years batch... Then slowly close the pan while reciting the pledge of allegiance backwards , leaving out any words that start with F ....then ....your ready to shoot ! Easy peazy !! Try not to move the firearm much until after you've fired though !!

Now had added just a pinch of Swiss 1F to your prime mix it would have been even faster!!!!🤣

Darn it ! Thought I was done ! LOL !! I took a little slab off the bottom of the forearm today too. After I get the pipes made and inlet , then slab off the side plate side of forestock and knock the ff all the dledges ...she'll start lookin great ! Lithe and slim....
Lol, never said I’d turn down thin and trim
!

Cleaning up , refining long wrist ....look at it from above , youll see high spots , bulges , in the wrist , lay ruler along side if that helps , then mark high spots and then remove them . Use pencil not marker ,I used marker because pencil wouldnt show up in pic then quickly removed it . It can be difficult to impossible to remove Esp. near finish ....keep doi g this removal.until the wrist on sides tip and bottom are symmetrical and nice and straight , no high spots or bulges .... a symmetrical sweep to the buttplate
