Sand curve till done , cut and trim up trigger , get trigger guard bend to correct shape ,spot holes ( a VERY small window for that front screw!!! ) , drill holes and counter sink ( &%$# guard is h@rd as h%## ! ) fit screws , line up front first , drill hole in wood for front screw and line up front final , screw down , line up again , trace finial ,..... Inlet front finial get it down first then we'll check out the rear and adjust it ....

She fought me a bit but got the trigger guard all done . Cool ...Welp , other than the front sight shes a done gun " in the rough " stage . Next have to solder on the front blade and tear her all done and taking ng her down to final and sand her down for finish ....

Rob,

Being that 100 year old metal is so hard have you ever made any knives from it? I was wondering if it would make a superior blade compared to modern steel.

Make front blade and solder it on the barrel , get er centered ... Got er ... Let er cool then touch er up with file ...

Taking the stock down to final , clean er up , thin er up ....

One of the first things I do is ....with barrel in and tang screw to torque ... File then sand area around tang to finish ....afterwards take barrel back out and file and sand rest of stock to final ... Stay away from tang area , natch .

And chisel , and file and sand and sand and sand and sand ......

Got it all down to final with shape and tools ....just final sanding now then start finish .... So many interruptions lately ! I wanna get this gun done !!

Rob is that flat file your holding an auto body file with curved teeth .

Exactly bud ... Its good for removing that rough stuff the rasp leaves . I use it for that and when I'm taking the edges of barrel channel and RR channel to final , thin , edge .... It cuts clean , very clean ...
