General purchase question

I am thinking of having a historically correct muzzle loader built for me.
I would like the following features; 58 caliber, rifled, nice wood/metal/finish, left handed, historically correct ....
Any advice on a builder/website/Ect.

Would like to keep the cost below $2000

That's the problem when you start using the HC word. Time, place and person come into play.

My guess is you're really looking for a nice, generic, left hand, percussion rifle with pretty wood that you would enjoy and the HC part isn't real critical.

Take a look at Tenessee Valley Muzzleloading. Semi custom work, percussion or flint, some in left hand versions like the Leman trade rifle and wood upgrades.

I have handled on of his smooth rifles, If you want authenticity he is your man. May cost a little more than 2000 depending on what options you want but it is well worth it IMHO.

To see what you might like for style, take a gander through Pedersoli's website...not saying anything about buying from them as I understand you're looking for semi-custom, but since they have so many percussion styles, it might give you an idea of what you like the looks of. And of course, liking a style may not guarantee it will fit you very well.

You can also peruse Track of the Wolf's consignment pages to get a feel for various styles. Even though Track's tries to put a "name" on each offering, be aware it may not be HC, but perhaps representative of a style. Still good to see what you might like/want.

If you can lock down a style or two you like, then perhaps the group here can be more helpful on sending you to the right builder to do the job.

TVM states right on their website that their guns are not built to be HC but more representative.
