A close friend of mine just acquired a Full 25 Pound Case of it Today (Through me :)) all in the Old Metal Cans, 2F
Sounds like you’re a good friend. Even if you sold it to him at current market value.

The Hodgdon Bean Counters, who work for Hodgdon Powder Company, made the decision to shut down the GOEX plant...,
GOEX production was stopped because it was not profitable enough for the company.

The fire at the GOEX plant last Spring (June?), has caused the company (the bean counters) to look at the financial costs of complying with current reconstruction regulations. The closing is not due to profit before the fire, but the possible lack of profits after the increased costs to rebuild.

Not a conspiracy, but just the reality of business.

Pyrodex is good for BP cartridge, I get very good results with Pyrodex P in my .44-40 WCF handloads. But I don't care for it in my muzzle loading firearms. The reason for modern inline rifles going over to using shotgun primers is because Pyrodex has a higher ignition point than BP. I could convert my percussion guns to musket caps to resolve that issue, but I have a stocked up on #11 caps and won't be making that conversion anytime soon.

Part of the reality is that regulations are an opportunity for bureaucrats (appointed by anti-gun politicians) to choke the industry to death. Things like hazmat fees get more expensive, zoning codes get more restrictive, and fewer gunshops carry black powder. Manufacturers gradually go out of business.

We still have Swiss blackpowder, but sooner or later a presidential order will stop imports.

You all better join the NRA and vote Republican or we gradually lose the guns and they will be lost forever.

To the yellow dog Democrats and union guys here, your party wants to abolish guns.

GOA guys, your group is really just an angry newsletter. Look at the 990 tax forms of the GOA and compare to that of the NRA. The NRA is the only real gun lobby. If you don't like LaPierre, then become a Life Member and use your ballot to replace him. Attend the national convention, participate to get reform. We did it in 1977 and we can do it again.

We can only hope that some one else in the United States Of America will take the rains and keep it going. Thank You….

Drilling nipples to .040" improved my ignition using #11 caps and pyrodex.

Nothing in what I have written suggests "conspiracy".
The Bean Counters are paid by Hodgdon, they are employees at Hodgdon, ergo Hodgdon Powder Company is responsible for accepting their decision, and I don't like it.
Unsure why folks seem to think that simply calling them "bean counters" instead of the specific "Hodgdon Bean Counters", and calling it a "business decision" changes that, or that it should change my mind.
