I use a bare ball over the wads. This load was listed above. If you have a near bore sized ball it is the only way to do it. Might try a .735 rd ball, over an ovwrpowder wad, half a lubed fiber cushion wad, the nall, and then a thin overshot card.

I use the .600 ball also with a thin patch, after first shot things became very tight if not wiped. Tried the bare ball with sprue centered down on full lubed wad, negligible accuracy difference converted me to mostly shooting bare.

Deadeye, i can load and shoot all day and never wipe the bore. The overpowder wad pushes most of the fouling down on top of the next charge and the 1/2 lubed fiber cushion wad lubes the bore and keep the fouling that is left soft. LOads easy.

Der Forster, aaahaa, so, ya didn't believe 'ol Rebel huh? Well i wouldn't lie to ya, might tell a yarn now and then, but never lie. Don't blame you for being skeptical but all i know is, it woks for me. And i am not finding any signs of all this Lead in the barrel that some people worry about. Glad you are having good luck with it. Take care.

Ok, i dropped your package off at the P.O. and the lady asked if it was anything perishable, hazordous, etc. I told her no, just some lead balls. She said "Again". She knows me by now and i sent some .530's and .535's to another fella last week to test. What else can we send cross country that is not cost effective to us? We both are sending about $.50 worth of lead to each other and paying over $4 to ship it. :rotf:

No no no, my bear grease is priceless!

Sending two tins, one for hunting, one for summer use and some lead for ballist. :winking:

Well, be sure to tell the lady at the P.O it isn't perishable. Looking forward to trying the lube and the .595 rd balls. Course ya know if they work good i am going to have to find a .595 rd ball mould. Got an extra? Hek, you could send me a .595 mould and i could send you a .600 mould and we can keep that little box just a zipping cross the country. :rotf:

As you can tell, don't take much to amuse me. :haha: Just kinda neat to see how many trips this box can make across country.

OK,Rebel.....

I don't understand why, but IT WORKS!!!

80gr 3f GOEX,and one ragged hole with 4 out of 5 rounds at 35 yards. The one round out was maybe an inch low and to the left.

My ole buddy and sidekick up home called earlier.he has a bunch of hogs located up on the highest mountain in Georgia, and I'm leaving tonight   . One of the hogs, a boar, has L O N G C U T T E R S out of it's mouth, and he tore three of the dogs up really bad last night. In fact, one of the dogs may not make it. I intend to roll ole big boy over with my new hog rifle,BARE BALL LOADED .

Now that I have a handful of .600s thanks to Rebel, I hope to get to the range next Monday and try this neked ball shooting myself.

See, sometimes i actually DO know of which i speak. Glad it worked out well for you. I know it does for me. Good luck on the Hog Hunt.

Sorta like the snow in Wyoming, it doesn't melt, just gets worn out from blowing back and forth.

Good idea!

Have you considered trying using paper rolled cartridges? Wouldnt have to fuss with the wads but then again fowling might become a problem.

Yea, this way i can shoot all day and not have to swab the bore, and i don't have to worry so much about the paper starting a fire.

Rebel,

Thought I'd let you know.....your loading system with an over shot card works on game also . Killed a sow hog,175-200 pounds, this morning just after daylight using your loading method.
