Pouch only. All my shooting is practice for hunting, so it only makes sense.

I use the bench while adjusting or maintaining guns with tools from my range box, but the shooting is strictly from the pouch.

I don't believe I've ever shot from a bench with a muzzleloader. I bring a pouch and lay it on a round hay bale when offhand shooting. When sighting in I'll use a log for a rest and sit on the ground, with the pouch also on the ground along side of me. But the last time I did this I came up missing my handmade leather ball bag and hadn't realized until hunting season came around. Too late with a snow covered field. Found it the next spring though. Pretty rustic looking now I might add :haha: . Still functional. My shooting spot is my hunting spot, also. Its always a nuisance to shew the deer out of the field so I can practice on a target :idunno: .

I load out of my backpack. Sometimes I keep a few paper cartridges and patches in my pocket for convenience.

When I shoot my modern guns, it's usually out of mag pouches on my belt or a chest rig. Sometimes if I switch between modern and muzzleloading, I keep my muzzleloading stuff in my magazine pouches.

Most shots fired are on the range either practice or in matches so load from shooting box and try to limit spread to 3-4 feet.

Used to try matches from the bag but failed to resupply the bag adequately once and caused problems on a hunt. Now keep bag stocked and load from the box at the range.

Very well thank you. :haha:

Oh dammit I was going to say that...

All my "Range stuff" I know I will need that day is packed in a range box and a big Tackle box carrys my shooting rest and targets. Once at the range the range box is placed on a chair to my right beside me. Up on the table I have a tin of prepared/prelubed patches, box of balls, vent pick, primer, a rag and a pile of cleaning patches on my left side of the table. Powder for loading is in the range box to my right and slightly behind me. I also bring a piece of paneling that is proped up or clamped to the right side of the table so my vent gases do not bother anyone else sitting to my right.

I started out loading fron the bench, but soon started loading from my bag. It just seems easier than fumbling around a table.

When I first moved here one of the guys at the rifle club said that I didn't shoot bad for a city boy.
Coming from him I took that as a great complement,
He worked for a utility& kept a rifle in a rack in the company truck

I shoot from positions - either standing or seated on the ground (haven't tried prone yet).
The fixing are carried in an old ammo box and kept on the range table. Powder flask, measure, wads, patches, rbs, squeeze bottle of alcohol, ramrod.
Shoot. Swab the barrel with alcohol, load, shoot again. Very leisurely.
Pete

Most of my target shooting is done at a range set up and designated for BP shooters. Loading is done at racks/benches set up behind the firing line. No powder is suppossed to be at the firing line. Since the range is set up this way using the bench is easier. I save the pouch and horn for the trail walks.
