G'day,
Couple of extra ideas.
In Australia many of us now use Castrol PH grease for lubing anything in BP. It is a zinc based grease designed for car door locks and the like. It is made so it can easily be washed off clothes and the likes. It keeps the fowling soft for some days and washes out easily when cleaning the gun.
For filler I use a 50-50 mix of Polenti (corn meal) and Semolina. We use our pistols for target only in Australia so we are using reduced loads virtually all the time. Polenti does not easily compress and Semolina is very soft. Combining the two make a firm but compressable filler. For example we will use 17 gns of FFFg in the Old Army then top up the cylinder to the top with the filler. When the ball is seated it will be flush with the top of the cylinder.
