The GPR flintlock don't look like one that someone made one hundred and fifty years ago. Old Charlie

Correct, it looks like a rifle made in the early 1860s (like the Kit Carson Hawken)that someone has removed the percussion lock from, and converted to a flintlock.

Ditto.

The classic Hawken so much copied today and prized by buckskinner types, were products of the 1840's-50's, (mountain man era was a thing of the past by then) made popular by demand of well to do (Hawkens were high end guns) eastern tenderfeet in the westward migration of that era.

No J&S Hawkens after Jake died of cholera in 1849, S. Hawkens made by Sam and Gemner (he continued to use the S. Hawken mark) were 1850's and later guns.

True there. I have an old style TC rocklock with a 32" Orion BBl, and for just pure shooting fun with a flintlock rifle, it is a good one.

Authetic, no, fun, heck yeah.

Your post lists a quote by mark lewis as: "...for me things must be logical..." ?????????

A quote about "logic" from someone who makes sweeping generalizations such as:

"...1:48" barrels are only good for a tomato stake..."

Seems to be a serious disconnect between those statements.
