Sorry, but I get kind of a Conan the Barbarian fantasy Sword vibe when I look at the decoration on this rifle.

With that effort... builder needs to study original work if he is going for that $$$level.

Ok this is a test  I didn't open the link (yet) Or read any replies yet.

I bet your talking about a Doc white jaeger. I know two of his builds just went to TOW and he makes a OMG!!!! Jaeger......ok I'll post this then see if I'm right or :slap:

If I can get my project Jaeger to look a tenth as well as both of those, I will be happy. I won it on Gunbroker and it needs a lot of stock work. We shall see and I'll post pictures when it comes in. If anyone is interested in the listing search for item # 411572042 on GB and I am open to suggestions on it.

Something is worth only what someone is willing to pay for it.
But, even at the $11G+ price, I doubt the maker is making much of a profit. Time has value and even gun builders need to put beans on the table.

Just at a quick guess I see maybe 350 hours worth of "work" on that rifle.

What do you charge "your employer" for 350 of "your" working hours?

If you are a plumber or an electrician I suspect it would be somewhere near 11 grand - plus supplies of course...

As a plumber 350 hours of my (owner/operator) time goes for $33,250.00

IMO, White's "Jaeger" makes LeMaster's look REALLY good. The only issues I have with LeMaster's are the rather 2-dimensional engraving (no shading), esp. on the lock, and the stepped wrist that I like to be more pronounced.
Of course, a gun with that much engraving, wire inlay, and carving but by a true master would cost several times more.
Would I pay that much, for that gun? No. If I had 12g's to spend on a piece, there are used pieces by much better known builders popping up all the time that I would spend the money on.
Regards,
Mike

Hard to put a price on Art. I could put 800 hours in one and it would be worth near nothing.

I shoulda been a plumber :shocked2:

Dunno about that, honest living, filthy miserable physical work.

Pushing 50 I hurt much more than I should at this point in my life, shoulders, knees, elbows, hands, etc. Arthur is hateful.

350 hours of my web design/consulting time would go for about $16,000, on the low end.

I could be a plumber if I wanted to, already know every thing ya need to know. Hots on the left, poo runs down hill and most important...DON'T CHEW YER FINGERNAILS :blah:
