A lot depended on the owner. I've seen Jaeger rifles that were obviously owned by hunter or were military and were somewhat plain in appearance. Another few owned by state royalty could have chiseled work on barrel and lock and inlaid with gold...obviously not your "drag it around the forest" kind of rifle. Most of the latter are exquisitely carved with inlays and chiseled steel and are true works of art.
