Well... I left the house this morning and headed out to my families small farm with good intentions and the necessary equipment to shoot this months target.
And... of coarse I forgot the target.
I did have plenty of other generic targets to shoot at, and did so, but DANGITT... I hate when that happens.

This morning I was helping to orient new members at our gun club and after finishing I made a quick stop on the 25 yard range and shot 6 shots, packed up and headed for home. Scored 40, offhand, 35 gr Swiss 3f , #1-1/2 buckshot. Might try to shoot my ROA revolver next week.

This little Deringer is identical to the pistol John Wilkes Booth used to kill President Lincoln. 10 grains of ff and it bounced off the backboard on 2 shots. Shoots a big pattern. Very little recoil.
Booth had it right, if you want to be sure you hit em, touch the barrel to their head!

What a pleasure and an honor to shoot this precious work of art by Samuel Hawken. The gun is far more accurate than I am. There is no doubt in my mind that this rifle is just as deadly today as it was in the late 1800s when Sylvester "Bear" Scott slayed hundreds of bears in northern California and Idaho with it. Today while I play with his pride and joy. He lies in an unmarked grave on the Nez Perce Indian Reservation near Grangeville Idaho.

I hope I am able to get Sylvester's story written before I am where he is.

Nice shooting. Very nice gun.
It looks like you posted this in the wrong month. That's February's target
