Fine ... but I only use it for 'light' frosting of a bore and see no need for regular cleaning, were tepid water accomplishes anything and everything I ever need for cleaning muzzleloading bores.

For me, if I need something to be more aggressive, I like a strip of ScotchBrite wrapped around a bronze brush. TIP - Best to use a cleaning rod with a rotating tip on a rifle bore, so the pad stays in full contact in/with the lands/grooves and doesn't skip over them.

If needed, @Rob M. has posted some really excellent tutorials on cleaning smooth a 'nasty' smoothbore bore.

I put hundreds of JB (both grades) saturated patches down my bores after a good scrubbing with scotch bright and checked the result with my Teslong, the JB is not very aggressive and only polished the bore slightly.
