I've never tried the sawn agate flints as I always got extra flints with every flintlock I've bought. Most folks report mixed results using them but see how your rifle works with the knapped flint compared to the sawn flint you just wore out. It may be worth changing over to or it may not, you'll just have to see. Glad to hear you are enjoying your new rifle and can get out and shoot it. Weather here isn't very suitable for going to the range.
