I'm wondering if anyone has any info on these? Jedediah Starr Trading Co. is offering these as finished guns. I would like to know the manufacturer and quality. Thanks in advance.

It is a Pedersoli gun, and higher end Pedersoli at that, especially the lock.

I don't own one, but do have their Mortimer .45 "Whitworth" cap lock (only one Whitworth Flintlock was ever made). It is a very nice target gun.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Thank you for your reply. These have really peaked my interest. If it has a good quality lock, i'm definitely interested.

Pedersoli Mortimer 12 ga. flint.

Good lock... well built
Bought mine used from "Flintlock etc"..He's also a Pedersoli dealer.
due to drop it's a heads up type of sight picture.
Wanted a longer barrel 38" so Ed Rayl built one for me..
I sent him a new breach plug he did the rest.
Mailed the check this am so I should see the new barrel in the next week.
I paid 1/3 the cost of a replacement barrel from Pedersoli.

Took my first flintlock goose with mine....

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the breechplug? Flintlocks Etc? I'd like to get a rifled barrel
made up for my Mortimer.

Yes... Flintlock Etc is where I ordered it.
Sent the old barrel and new breach plug to Mr Rayl last spring...
I will install under lugs, rib and pipes, front bead.
The Mortimer would make a good rifle.

Fine looking piece. I would really like a SxS flinter, but i like the looks of those Mortimer's.

The rammer is a little light! No tight components!

You do shoot them head up other wise they want seem to shoot low. I fitted a rear sight to mine and can ignor it wing shooting but does ok to 40yds with a .690.
