I am the very proud and satisfied owner of this 11-gauge Marshfield style fowler built for me by Mike Brooks of Iowa. We used a Colerain barrel and a Chambers Colonial Virginia lock, which Mike modified. Went with cherry for the stock and no buttplate, in keeping with the thrifty nature of my Plimoth Colony ancestors. The W carved into the left butt stands for Wood, one of the families I am descended from, and who lived in Middleborough, Mass., for many generations.
Will post when I can get out and shoot her; we have been moving into a new place, which has played hobb with my recreational needs.

Hi Bill,
A Ha!! So you are the person in Oregon that Mike sent that gun too. We were all oogling it and complimenting Mike on "the other forum". Congratulations.

She is a beauty. Mike is one hell of a builder and I did check it out on the "other forum" as well. You are one lucky guy. Let us know how she shoots after you move.

Hi Bill. Congratulations! Super neat looking gun!!
I just love the antique finishes Mike uses. It adds an extra value to the shooting experience. Even the way the "W" is carved into the stock looks great.
You will get years of fun. He is a master builder. Again, congrats! :v  Rick. :hatsoff:

I like that, Mike builds an outstanding firearm.

Glad you have it, now you just need to try and find some time to play with it.

:applause:
