:agree:That seems to be the bottom line.
I seem to recal Remington a few years ago produced a (admittedly, limited) RB and ML; I don't recall the asking prices, but they both were quite expensive even in US$. More importantly, the ML was basically assembled from parts like a "kit", with a GM barrel; a member in one of my clubs purchased a ML new; the build quality can only be described as poor!
I have no problem with Remington, but this perhaps is just one example of trying to compete in a possibly overcrowded / oversupplied market.
