The patch is actually DEaccelerating away from the ball, due to drag. Drag is but 1 of the 6 factors of External Ballistics.
What is the red line seen in the pics?

That does seem to be. The red line is different in each picture, with the second picture having more redlines. Burning powder is lighter than the ball and patch, so it travels faster. That is just my .02 cent opinion.

Any idea how far from the muzzle these are? Curious to know the propellant used as well,,,, patch looks mighty clean....
I think that's how the planets & universe was formed. Wonder where those gigantic patches ended up?

I wonder if those ball were fired by compressed air, being so clean and no smoke or flame in sight. That would make for a better photograph in a photo lab.
