The twist in my CVA squirrel rifle is 1:48 . To find out the rate of twist for your barrel , put a jag on your ramrod and run a tight (but not too tight) patch down the bore . Make a pencil mark on the ramrod and a coresponding mark on the end of the barrel . Withdraw the ramrod until the mark on the ramrod has gone 1/4 turn from the mark on the barrel . Measure how many inches the mark on the rod is from the muzzle . Multiply the number of inches by 4 . This will tell you how many inches of rifling is in one complete turn .
