There are plenty of reputable builders that have been mentioned on the Forum many times. Just recently there was a thread listing some of the best. That said, more of a few of these builders choose to make or source for themselves the parts that they use and some specialize in certain types of guns - ie fowlers, NC mountain rifles, etc. and will not take on work that does not reflect their personal take on what is proper or that they want to held responsible for using in a gun.
 
Yikes, I'm imagining a beautiful rifle that's torn apart and remade into a zombie. Hopefully, it was a hack job to begin with and for the OPs sake, he gets the fantasy rifle he wants.
