I thought that was a silver dollar and figured the ball must be a big 'un. :redface:
So, you gonna remelt it and get another deer or keep it as a souvenir?

It's a keeper. Shows rifling and has the weave of the patch pressed into the lead. I have re-melted other balls and conicals, some from carcasses but most from my shooting backstop, but that is my only deer recovered round ball from a rifle.

LOL. Of all the pictures on this forum, NWTF longhunter's have to be the best. If i did not know that cameras did not exist in the late 18th early 19th centuries, i would swear thats when they were taken :thumbsup:
