good questionAny reason not to include those of us with rifled muskets that shoot Minie balls (instead of patched round balls) to the same ends?

Pistol is also 25 yards and will likely remain that way for future shoots. Is the range for pistol users 25 yards?
I saw mention of 20 yards in last months shoot, curious if that's the norm or just specifically for that one. Thanks!

Makes sense to me, for what it's worth. An extra 15 feet isn't that big of a deal and it's simpler to shoot everything at the same distance. If I want to hit something with any pistol, BP or unmentionable, I want to be way closer than 25 yards. I'm not exactly and expert shot with anything, though.Pistol is also 25 yards and will likely remain that way for future shoots.
Round Ball Only.
However, you shoot the target with Minie, mark it accordingly and send it in. I'll report the scores separate of the Round Ball. Essentially Minie would be it's own class. Work for you?
If minnies are really that much better, I want to get on the wagon. The only problem that might arise is that I'm allergic to recoil. And round balls are so cheap that I buy them. Haven't seen many 32 cal minnies, either.Sounds like discrimination,... or an opportunity to display why Minies are superior and supplanted roundballs.
Perhaps they are so much so superior they need to be in a separate class, wouldn't be fair to those having to use roundballs.
TNGhost, Are you familiar with NMLRA Rules & Regulations? In short they hold Round Ball and Minie shoots in different classes. While we can't follow NMLRA rules exactly, because the print and shoot targets make that impossible, we try to follow NMLRA as closely as possible. That's why I report pistol results separate from rifle.Sounds like discrimination,... or an opportunity to display why Minies are superior and supplanted roundballs.

My bow season looks to be smoked out. Oregon is pretty much on fire. I'm afraid to go out in the woods for fear of starting something.Printed mine today. Hope to shoot this weekend , depending on how opening day of bow season goes. Really appreciate you taking the time to do the shoot. Thanks as always.
The cross hairs are for a ten . Maybe a perfectly centered ball is an x!I'm pretty sure the white circle and cross hairs are for contrast. I will score any ball that lands the majority, 50% or more, inside the black triangle as 9 points. The closer to center (cross hairs) will break ties.
Does them Minnie Bulls have Horns?Lets print a target with a Minnie as the bull. Then we will see just how superior they are when hit with a barrage of round balls!
Be sure to get your buddy signed up to Vote, too! (Sorry, Mods, could not resist!)Mine, pistol and rifle, are in the mail. I won't be winning anything but it was fun and I wouldn't have made the special trip to shoot without the contest. So, thank you for doing this and poking me with a stick to get me going. I need to get my buddy signed up for a little more motivation.
