This is one area where NOT being PC may be okay. You can keep the co2 discharger in a buckskin bag,etc. I think it is safer and it is certaintly faster. The ball comes out pretty fast. Screwing into a ball obviously destroys it. Some conicals cost about a buck a piece and if you blanket the muzzle while using a co2 discharger, they'll come out without being deformed. They will deform if they hit road pavement, etc.
 
I love mine, it works great and is alot safer than pulling. I use it alot, I dry ball so often that they made me a sign that says powder, patch, ball to put on my shooting box! :crackup:
 
I've got one and I love it I use it on muskets,flintlock, caplock, and never had problems....kinda remindes me of my wife full of air ..but useful :crackup: :crackup: :crackup: :m2c:
