I went with TOW's .080 silver front sight blades based on recommendations here. Absolutely hate them! Thickness if fine after opening the rear sight notch slightly for old eyes, but reflections off that bright front sight are the dickens on bright days. Fine in low light, but otherwise fuggeddabbowdit.
I can't find any .080 steel sights, so I'm going back to the Lyman original, but I'll file it as thin as need be, then brown it to match the rifle. I'll probably end up blackening it for hunts, but for cool factor I think they'll look best browned like the rifle.
