"The sizing liquor is applied on warp yarn with a warp sizing machine."

No wonder when I used to spit patch I got happier and more relaxed the more I shot :haha:

I highly doubt that factory cut shooting patches are additionally washed.

Of course, after doing some research I think I am going to start washing because I do use spit lube often.

Clyde, I buy the 1/2 square yard cloth instead of the pre-cut patches. It is so smooth and flat that they must be using some kind of starch on it ... besides, there is my "taste test"....

I remember as a kid growin up when we would get new blue jeans we wanted them washed about 39 times to get the sizing or what ever it was that made them ITCH like crazy OUT of them.I wouldnt want to put my rifle barrel thru that pain I had to go thru just to be a straght shooter.Thank goodness for pre washed jeans. I vote for washed tickin patchs. Curt

I take my micrometer to the fabric store to help select the thickness I want, then purchase 4 yds of that 100% cotton.
Wash it twice on the hottest machine setting and dry it on the hottest setting. Then steam iron it all flat, the ironing part is a lot of work. Hang the material up for a day to dry off moisture from the steam iron. Store the dried material in a large repurposed cookie tin box. I use a hole template to trace my patch size and cut out about 400 patches and apply the dry lube system lube to 150 patches at a time and Store these in an airtight container. The untreated patches are stored in airtight containers too.
