Gotta love that packing crate. Gorilla proof.

A good thing, since the first thing I noticed were boot prints on the lid!

Have you done a kit before Birddog

Well, sorta? I'm taking my time working on a French Dragoon kit, that requires much more work than a Kibler. But, I've got the tools, I've finished stocks, and I'll be taking my time and reading/watching.

I'm thinking about some very basic carving, but it's still intimidating as hell without direct guidance.

I will need to wait before I go Kibler! I need to save and hope nothing occurs in between that requires the use of what I saved! I just finished my Gemmer GPR Flinter. and will try it out this week for the first time!
Hope you like it. I have the Lyman in 54 that I have upgraded some and its a great gun. Mine wasn’t a kit though

Rock Isle invited me over to see his kit and then I shot his at the range a few weeks later. Ive never done anything like that but Im considering a Woodsrunner

I have an orig (20yrs old) Lyman(Investarms) GPR capper in .50. I built, and this latest one is the Gemmer (Investarms)GPR Flinter in .50 . I am no skilled artist, but I am happy with how they came out. It was what i could afford and so far so good. We wil see this next week when I take it to shoot. Lock seems fine?!

Yes, carving has always scared me too!!

BigAl, I'm no expert, but I've done a few military stocks, from stripping to dent repair and finishing. Pretty straightforward. Thankfully, lots of good info to help, as well.

Wish I was closer to you and Rock Isle.
