Seems to me that trying to blow a brush out of the bore with a CO2 discharger would only blow a lot of CO2 thru the bristles without moving the brush at all.
Correct...no different than when I pushed one out using the grease gun method.

To prevent leakage through the bristles, I took a cleaning patch, cut it into several little 1/4" pieces, removed the liner, stuffed them in to build a 'dam' effect, and pumped the brush up and out...same approach would have worked with air.

If you are using a "T" handled range rod and get something stuck, all you need to do is hold the bore guide in your fingers and put the "T" handle over the edge of the picnic table and give it couple raps. with a good strong range rod I have never had a problem getting stuck items out of the barrel real quickly with no damage to anything. Now if you want to get something stuck while using the rod under the barrel you have a problem. They do make a handle to fit those, but I have never had to use it. Got one just in case.

Brush still stuck in barrel. Tried the copper tube 4 times without success. Tube fit to tight so I slit it greased it and taped it down the barrel an pulled it out but brush stayed. Gonna try coat hanger spiral next. Thanks for all the help

hanger may scratch the inside of the barrel. like shooting hard steel shot. make sure it is a softer metal than your barrel. may need the help of a gun smith.

this should be a sticky. and it is not intended to be little this poster.

when you get something stuck in a barrel. stop right there. don't try anything set it some where and think about it. ask questions first not after you screw up something else. if you do not have the proper tools. make them buy them or go to someone that has them. it is cheaper in the long run. when i was doing gunsmithing i would get something stuck in the barrel once a week. some times more.

Coat hanger wire is soft. IMO it will not scratch the barrel. If sized correctly with a screw ID larger than the twisted brush wire and the OD less than the bore dimension, the coat hanger may never touch the bore.

I did the coat hanger trick then got rid of all the crimped brushes. The problem has not returned.

I tried the coat hanger an got the hanger stuck. Going to see a gunsmith. Thanks, Everybody

Idaho Ron has the right idea when it comes to removing a brush stuck in the barrel. I keep a piece of copper tubing handy that I chamfered the inside of for removing a stuck brush. The chamfer makes it easier to push over the stuck brush and once its over the brush it will come right out.

Can you get a "T" handle screwed on to your ram rod? Several companies sell a leather padded jaws handle that will grip without damage to your ram rod will allow you to get a better hold on the rod to remove it. Can't remember where I got mine, but if you call Cains Outdoors, Log cabin, or Track of the Wolf, I'm sure one of them can help you. someone here may be able to post picture of this item also.

Comes a point where salvaging the ram rod is not an issue. Get the bore cleared (safely) is all that is important. Ram rods are nearly disposable items and easily replaceable.
Put end of rod in a large vice and pull. That fails? Debreech.

Long ago I had a "bronze" bore brush get stuck. I stopped using those, and started using the plastic bristle ones. They work fine until I had a ramrod tip come unsoldered from my Pedersoli Brown Bess. I have since just been using patches and a jag. It works for me. I got the loose brush/ramrod section out by bending a hook into a metal wire.I pushed it through the bristles ,then pulled it back out. I silver soldered the ramrod back together. JA
