If the jag, with some broken ramrod attached, is stuck closer to the muzzle, are we still in "just shoot it out terrain?" Isn't it now an obstruction?
If it is a dry ball I would? If the jag, with some broken ramrod attached, is stuck closer to the muzzle, are we still in "just shoot it out terrain?" Isn't it now an obstruction?
But the topic is a stuck jagIf it is a dry ball I would?
It will get a jag out as well . I wouldn't do it if the barrel is charged. To blow up a barrel with black powderit takes considerably more power than one would think but I wouldn't take the chance if it is already charged. But the topic is a stuck jag
If the o.p. is not at the range,,,, shooting it out might not be an option.... this has been mentioned before in other stuck object topics where some people only answer to these issues is shoot it out. After reading through this whole thread, I'm still wondering why the shoot it out method has not been tried?! It does work you know!
This is where some confusion lies,,,, at least for me. In a later reply that mentions the broken ramrod,,, it looks like the top of the jag shank is sticking out of the muzzle.OP wrote, ".50cal Jag on ramrod with thundercloud cleaning patch.... made it to the bottom and thats it... will not come back up...
No sir. Im assuming I will need to take the drum off to get the flame into the barrel. I have a mini torch that I used to heat up the Nipple to get it off.@bassncrap, did you try burning the patch?
Something you are doing is wrong if it wont shoot out or you have another problem all together? Go to a gunsmith before you ruin your rifle!Tried yesterday to shoot it out. No dice.
Ok, I must have misunderstood the location, I thought it was stuck near the top. Couldn't say whether trying to burn the patch at the bottom is doable. No sir. Its stuck near the breech.Ok, I must have misunderstood the location, I thought it was stuck near the top. Couldn't say whether trying to burn the patch at the bottom is doable.
Hate to say it but the breech plug may have to come off.Its stuck near the breech.
Almost rather just keep my.eyes open for.a replacement barrel than open that can of worms lol.Hate to say it but the breech plug may have to come off.
Well shooting it out has been suggested maybe a couple dozen times on this thread, only 23 more attempts or so to go to hope for a different outcome…..Tried yesterday to shoot it out. No dice.
I've used the grease gun method many times, very easy if one is smarter than a tube of grease.Well shooting it out has been suggested maybe a couple dozen times on this thread, only 23 more attempts or so to go to hope for a different outcome…..
And no point trying the grease gun method, those videos were probably faked…..
