Excellent post. Any water as a cleaner and olive oil as a lube. If it's installed properly, nothing should be able to get to your breech plug threads.

I have been around this "game" for awhile.I have never heard of Breach Plug Failure.Maybe because the guy that had it came away with a third eye.Seriously though,Does it happen?I figured that the breech plug had heavy enough threads and I have thought that it was screwed tight enough that water would never effect it.

Peanut oil is used for cooking just like olive oil
I'd think it would work just as well as a patch lube.
Tanstahl, crushing and boiling, that might work.

What if someone near by is allergic to peanuts? Olive oil is documentable, as is corn oil :winking:

Wouldn't it be something if the guy next to you suddenly starts breaking out in hives when you shoot  :rotf:

Victim say's " I swear doc, I didn't eat any peanuts. I was just at the range shooting and I started to itch!"

Always make sure your patch lube is hypo-allergenic :haha:
