I've seen these T/C Silent Ball Discharger on the internet for sale and would like to know what actually is used to propell the ball from the barrel, and also what they are like to remove the ball rather than using a bullet puller.

They use a CO2 cartridge to blow the load out with compressed air...

Thanks again roundball that answers my question as I've seen them on ebay but they dont mention what is used with them to remove the ball.
May be worth looking into getting one.............

The CO2 dischargers are sooo much easier to use than pulling a charge. I personally like the trigger style better than TC's, but each his own. These dischargers make it easier to unload evrything from "oops I forgot the powder" to end of the day deer hunting. They blow out whatever is in the barrel and from my experience send it about 20 - 30 feet out, so you still have to empty the gun in a safe place, with a safe backstop.

I must concur, they are so much better than using the traditional ball puller.I will advise you not to pitch the ball puller entirely though. In a flintlock ,w/ no powder behind the ball, it can prove problematic to insert the needle like flint adapter twixt the breech and ball w/o using the ball puller to pull the ball off the breach.Best regards,J.A.
