I have two sets of chisels and gouges and a few scrapers I made up. Nothing special.
 
Carving is like hitting a baseball. You can have a top of the line bat, but if you can't swing it, it doesn't help. In other words, it's the skill of the carver, not the tools.

Chris, that's a fine rifle, but no good at all. It's too pretty to shoot! :crackup:
 
Excellent job. The gun looks great. What type of stain did you use, I love the color. Seeing that you are from York was it "Ditchburns stain". I have a bottle of this stain and tried it on several pieces of curley maple and it looks close to the color of your pictured gun. Also what type of finish did you use? I really like the non-glossy matte finish.
