Just got a picture back from the Smithy, that was quick :thumbsup:

We just had our Long Range Musket on display and in use at the Fort Massac Encampment. Ours was built from Rifle Shoppe parts and had seen a lot of use by the unit.

You can see that the pintle was not squeezed in as it is attached to the stock. Ours measures 2 13/16" from side to side.

The bore is almost 1" and the firing of the gun is impressive to say the least.

So we agree to within about one twentieth of an inch. Maybe the wax they were using to cast my swivel saw the fiery furnace and lost it's rigidity somewhat?

I have always fancied getting a wall gun, the sort of artillery piece one can carry on the shoulder. Thank you for sharing robinghewitt.

You could carry a Long Range Musket on your shoulder, but at 30+ pounds, it is very heavy.
The recoil is fierce and firing it once will have you looking for a post to stick that yoke into.
