Yes it is a stunning piece of lumber to be sure, the base for it is in-tact as well, looks like a root mass.

Here is the head scratcher part of this whole scenario, she had this table set out at a summer-long yard sale with a $250.00 price tag and not one nibble, baffles the mind.

Thinking this could be a product of a divorce settlement from years past.

May have been off on the thickness measurement, will double check in the morning but I think it is closer to 2 1/2" thick which may limit some projects, still alot of potential there.

Sort of the old "his stuff for sale" yard sale!? Like the wall mount idea and can't help but wish there was some way to cut it in to thinner slices to crate a number of gorgeous wall hangings.

I got a chunk of Walnut about that size, about 30 years ago.
So I know what’s going through your mind.
I will be waiting to see what you do.

Maybe I will know what to do with mine.

Gonna do as the Lady asked and cut it up, so many fine articles are just waiting to be realized from this lumber. I just need the time to cut it up is all.

Knowing that this slab is 2 1/2" thick what would be the smallest square dimension that you would want to cut this down to accomodate the base plugs for powder horns.

Years ago when that stuff was real popular there was a guy that lived around the corner from me,he would cut it in lengths (at least that's what he did for me)and made a huge frame for a big unicorn picture,me and my brothers had it done for mom,he made a square, covered it in resin i think,he had a big vat in his back yard and then routered a square on the back to mount a thin piece of wood on that the picture was mounted to,that had to be back in late 70s early 80s she still has it.Moms living room was full of that furniture, one was way cool as it was round and about 2 feet deep with a door in front where she kept all the magazines and such, someone did a real nice job on that...They got divorced and it all dissapeared.
