It's cold and wet here. It's been in the low-mid 30's for three days and has not stopped raining for 4 days.
I ground 12# of pork and 4 pounds of beef yesterday and seasoned it. It's been resting\curing for a good 12 hours.
It will get re-mixed and stuffed into 21mm snax sticks and 34mm hog casings today.
It will hang overnight and I will fire up the smoker in the morning.
The kids and grandkids are coming for lunch and movies today (it's a KFC day)
Son in law is bringing one of his award winning darks - it's going to be a good day!
Other than that - not doing much today......

Kestrel, would you be in the Yuma Az vicinity? Used to be a lot of old tracked vehicles out on the Barry Goldwater.
You are correct sir. We are camped near Wellton. Found these guys out in the BMGR. Got woke up just after midnight this morning by the Army celebrating the new year with all kinds of .50 and big artillery out on the Yuma Proving Grounds.🤩

I will. I just closed the deal on him. I'll pick him up at the Alabama Longrifle Show on the 7th. I love Curs but prefer Feists as my woods aren't conducive to Curs unless they hunt close. Hills and briars make it tough to keep up.
Bob, you brought back great memories of coon hunting as a boy. Old blue tick, young redbone gyp and a young Doberman catch dog. Dark of the moon nights in the swamps. Mercy, seems like so long ago...

Working on the Blacksmith shop addition to my log cabin. Got to have a place to hammer on my 450lb Peter Wright anvil. It was sold at a steel mill auction many years ago in PA. Also have everything else I need Buffalo Forge with original hood etc...

I have a new rifle in parts and pieces, sitting in my workshop. However, I am on the mend after surgery on my shoulder. Can't do much until the incisions fully heal and I get through rehab, to get a full range of motion. So frustrated. So, I spend my time at the 'puter, reading M/L forums.

I bust a shoulder a couple of years ago. Wrote this:-

One Armed Fettling

I'm trying one armed fettling
(Till I'm returned to two)
Because, apart from that or reading
There's not much else to do.

I tried watching daytime telly
All them homes to sell or mend
And daytime soaps and dramas
Just drive me round the bend

One armed hanging washing
And one armed making tea
One handed much of anything
Is hard, just now, for me

So I thought I'd try reloading
Or at least see if I could
But I couldn’t get into the shed
So that's no bloody good.

I made some one armed toast today
For my one armed soft boiled egg
I know the yolk is soft because
It's down my sodding leg.

I think I'll stay in bed today
There is one thing I can do
I know a single handed pastime
But I'm not for a moment, telling you!

Get well soon
