Reclaimed the lead from a race car ballast. So much sand got worked up into it. I was able to clean it up good and it yielded pure lead. Was a real PITA at first, but once I got the top cleared and saw all that clean pure lead I cheered right up. I love how lead is so heavy the crap just floats to the top making clearing it easy enough.

I got 18 Corn Bread Ingots out of the deal. Didn't weigh it but they tend to weigh half a pound each so I am guessing about 9 pounds.

Got a second one stashed somewhere on the property...no idea where it is. Been looking for it for a few months. I put it in a safe place....I need to stop doing that.

I got out to the local range yesterday with a friend of mine, had my .54 cal. Kibler colonial shooting at 35yd.s. I was using 60gr.'s 3f with pillow ticking .024 and .530 ball, would have liked to get a longer range but....! Anyways did pretty good for an old guy, I think! The first 2 shots were off hand and the other 5 were standing and using a support.

Tried working up a load for this thing. It held a pretty tight group when shooting two handed at 25 yds. One handed was abysmal as expected. I have a feeling I'll be swapping grips out for something a little slimmer.

25gr Scheutzen 3F
.015 patch
.350 ball

I'm not sure of any rules against posting pictures of these "abominations." Please be gentle.

We had an unseasonably cool day, perfect for setting up in the backyard for a ball casting session. I poured five and a half dozen .600" ball. At an average 325 grains each, that worked out to approximately three pounds of lead. That ought to last me a couple of months.

Got the Pedersoli Kentucky down. It`s always had a stiff single trigger and floppy trigger to boot. After reading the trigger is mounted too low and needs more inletting or the trigger hinge pin re drilled higher. After looking at it decided to try just wrapping the trigger sear/ trip lever with copper wire?. A very simple process and nothing of the original lock changed. Well the floppy trigger is gone and trigger pull is most defiantly lightened ,I would say by about half. Always hated that trigger!!
