Local gun shop gave me a bunch of ML items today. He bought a pallet full years ago and can’t give it away:)

Too stormy and wet today to do any cutting or wielding. Some of my grandkids are coming up this weekend so I decided to do a JB bore paste and bore polish on the little Deerhunter to get rid of a couple of rough spots. My 11 year old granddaughter will be shooting it for the first time. The bore is in pretty good shape now.

Finished a Tandy Leather Winsor Belt Bag Kit. Bought it to assess just how difficult their kits were to make. Found that some of the instructions were a bit confusing and my kit didn't have quite enough waxed thread, but I got 'er done. Didn't dye mine, just rubbed it down with neatsfoot oil, Maybe next kit.

Now I gotta find a new purpose for it. I got some tins from Amazon that fit into it nicely. Maybe a place to keep magnesium wool that is on the opposite hip and not too close to the powder horn?

Had everything laid out for a day at the range. Email this morning saying range was closed, too many people getting stuck on the entrance road. So, put my stuff away and worked around the house. Wet weather everywhere I guess.

I’ve been putting together home grown BP for about a year now. I’ve amassed around 3 lbs of the stuff, all in fine powder form. The last step is to locate a binder agent to add to the powder for an hour of milling. Problem is, what binder agent works best? Any ideas?

Tried TDM's crown smoothing method this morning, and struck off to the range, Not a single cut patch! Thank you sir.:)

Didn't make me shoot any better...unfortunately. For a few shots I couldn't even find the paper. Took a break, swabbed the bore, cleaned the pan, and tried again. Last shot of the day was a bullseye at 25 yards. I was seated with my elbows on the bench, but I'll take it. I'm not proud,:p

Snow shoed out to my 5" steel plate up behind the tiny house. It's about 30 yard shot. Hit 8 out of 11 shots. All the caps were good.

Had new snow last night, so put a small box out as a target, using the snow for a pattern evaluation. Gun had a 12" 12 gauge New Englander barrel on it with a 30 grain charge of Pyrodex P, an over-powder card, a shot cushion, approximately 1.3 oz. of #6 shot and a single over-shot card. Cylinder bore. Range was roughly 30 yards, but I didn't bother to pace it off. Walked the camera out to the target for a closer look. Haven't learned how to use the video editing software yet, sorry about the dizziness that may have invoked in some.

Box is probably dead, but at that range a tighter pattern would be better.
